The Taste of the Trust raises thousands of dollars each year for the Brookhaven Trust. This year’s event was the first after a three-year hiatus brought on by COVID-19.

The Trust was founded in 1991 by a group of local citizens committed to preserving Brookhaven’s heritage and promoting cultural events locally. The annual event raises funds to help with historical preservation and beautification projects, such as the lights along the tops of business facades downtown.

Sixteen area restaurants and food/beverage providers had samples of their wares at the Thursday evening event at Ole Towne Church. They were Adele’s on the Boulevard, Betty’s Eat Shop, Broma’s Deli, Co-Lin Catering, Friend’s Kitchen, Georgia Blue, La Mariposa, Magnolia Blues, Mitchell’s, Poppa’s Buffet & Grill, Sweet & Petite, Serio’s Pizzeria, Trey Maddox Cheesecakes, Tortilla Soup, Tropical Smoothie and Southwest Distributors.
