Area students make honors at NWMCC

Two area students have been recognized for their academic work in the Fall 2022 semester at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

Madelynn Thornton of Brookhaven was named to the Vice President’s List. The list is comprised of 398 outstanding full-time students who completed the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.74.

Richard Diamond of Wesson was named to the President’s List. The list recognizes those students who earn a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher. This semester Richard is among 850 outstanding full-time students to be recognized for their work.

Students who have completed at least 12 hours toward a degree and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 are eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa, the international two-year honor society. PTK membership provides additional scholarship opportunities for four-year colleges and universities.
