Funeral services for Lucille Richardson Farris will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (894 Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven, MS, at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Farris, 91, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. She was born on January 31, 1931, in Brookhaven, MS, to Johnnie Richardson and Maybell Sullivan Richardson. She was a long-time member of Brookway Church of Christ in Brookhaven. “Miss Lucy” worked for many years at The Dixie Theater and Wand’s Seed Store in Brookhaven, MS. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents Johnnie and Maybell Richardson; husband, James Edwin Farris Sr.; son, James Edwin “Jamie” Farris Jr.; and siblings, John Richardson and wife Willie Del, Joan Idom and Danny Richardson; brother-in-law James Frank “Bugs” Barker.

Survivors are her children John E. Farris and Dr. Linda Farris; sister Mary Ann Barker; daughter-in-law Dr. Pam Farris, PHD; grandchildren, Ashley Farris Martin (Jacob), Logan Smith (Madison), Lee Smith (Sara), Kaley Farris, Dylan Farris (Toby) and Cody Farris; great-grandchildren, Aibry Martin and Rhyder Martin; and a host of family and friends.
