Jimmie Tildon Wilkerson was born on April 18, 1946 to Tildon and Margie (Wooten) Wilkerson in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jimmmie was raised in Petal, Mississippi. After graduation, he enrolled in Co-Lin Junior College in Wesson, Mississippi.

He enlisted in the US Air Force in February 1967, during the Vietnam War. Jimmie trained as a Printing & Binding Specialist and served until receiving an Honorable Discharge in July 1973. He then worked as an Offset Printer for General Motors in Michigan and retired after many years of employment. Jimmie officially retired after working for the Mississippi State Highway Patrol.

Jimmie married Crickett Carlisle of Brookhaven, Mississippi on May 31. 1997. They were married in Highlands, Texas and spend several years in Texas before returning to Mississippi to grow old together.

In January of 2021, Jimmie and Crickett moved to Monument, Colorado so that he could receive more focused health care for his medical needs. Jimmie loved Colorado and often referred to Pikes Peak as his mountain. He enjoyed car rides through Garden of the Gods and the US Air Force Academy, and family outings to get ice cream. Jimmie considered any day that he could see the mountains, a good day.

His parents, Tildon and Margie Wilkerson, preceded Jimmie in death.

Jimmie is survived by his wife, Crickett Carlisle of Brookhaven, Mississippi. His brother, Johnny Wilkerson and wife Annette of Wesson, Mississippi, also survived him. He leaves his children, Beth Burns Schlauch and husband Wes of Monument, CO, Anita Burns Boyd and husband Chris of Brookhaven, MS, and Doug Wilkerson and Shannon Wilkerson-Lang, both of Michigan.

Grandchildren – Erica Livermore and husband Toby, Bradley Perez and wife Kayla, Aileena Schlauch, Jason Schlauch, Will Boyd, Phoebe Schlauch, Presley Schlauch, Sophia Schlauch, Gabriella Wilkerson, Emma Lang, Allison Lang, and Grace Lang. Great grandchildren – Conway Perez and Faith Livermore. Nephew, Josh Wilkerson, niece, Jennifer (Chris) Brister, and great nephews, Gunar, Connor, and Aiden Brister. His best friend, Jerry Johnson of Brookhaven, Mississippi, also survives him.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 by The Springs Funeral Services. Burial & Military Honors were held on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022 at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
