Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Dyess Youngblood, 86, will be on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 at Meadville Methodist Church in Meadville, MS at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in the Union Church Cemetery at Union Church, MS at 1:30 p.m.  Rev. Calvin Cosnahan will be officiating the services, with Franklin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Meadville Methodist Church on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Youngblood passed from this life on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023 at her residence in Meadville, MS. She was born on March 20, 1936 in Laurel, MS to Mr. Thaddeus Eugene Dyess and Mrs. Grace McIlwain.

She was a longtime member and faithfully attended Meadville Methodist Church. She attended Jones Community College, Millsaps College and Scarritt College of Tennessee, she earned a master’s degree in Christian Education. She was a lifetime educator, faithfully teaching the Bible and Christian values to multitudes of people. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Thaddeus and Grace McIlwain Dyess; daughter, Bethany Elaine Youngblood Roberson and brother, Araah Eugene Dyess.

Survivors are her husband of 52 years, Walter Edward Youngblood; sister, Wilma Fay Dyess Crosby; granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Britt and husband, Blane and grandson, Michael Colten Piper.

Pallbearers are Grady Fleming, Bubba Gabbert, Daniel Youngblood, Randy Youngblood, Colten Piper and Blane Britt.
