Brookhaven Police have arrested an armed robbery suspect.

Dominique Daydreamus Smith, 19, was wanted in connection with incident on Feb. 6. On that Monday, officers responded to a call of armed robbery on Ole Brook Road and South First Street.

Contract workers were working in the area when a black male dressed in a black hoodie walked up to one of them with a firearm and demanded his Can-Am side-by-side ATV. The suspect then got into the blue and black ATV and drove off.

BPD Chief Kenneth Collins said the suspect was identified as Smith, and Collins asked him via Facebook to turn himself in. The chief also asked the public for assistance in locating the stolen ATV.

“If you will, check your property and make sure it is not being hidden on or near your property,” Collins said. “Anyone caught riding or hiding this ATV will be charged.”

Smith, of 1156 Ole Brook Road, was located and arrested on a city warrant Thursday and booked into the Lincoln County Jail just before 10 p.m.
