A suspect has been arrested in connection with a weekend armed robbery at East Lincoln Dollar General.

Mardarious Quashun King, of Hattiesburg, was arrested Tuesday in Natchez. Law enforcement was able to get an ID on a vehicle the suspect was possibly driving, allowing surveillance of King, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Johnny Hall Jr.

Officers found evidence linking the 23-year-old man to the robbery at Dollar General in Brookhaven, and to several other Dollar General robberies elsewhere.

On Saturday, Feb. 18, at approximately 8 p.m., a man entered the Dollar General store on East Lincoln Road and Hwy. 84, brandishing a gun and demanding money. After taking the money, he ran out of the store in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a camouflage hoodie, black pants and a black surgical mask. He either had an injury to his right eye or was missing the eye.

“He was not missing the eye,” Hall clarified. “It looked odd to the witness and that’s how they described him.”

King was arrested and is currently being held in Adams County Jail on local charges.
