Thursday morning, Brookhaven police responded to an early-morning report of an auto burglary.

At approximately 5:40 a.m., officers arrived at the 500 block of Chickasaw Street, where the victim reported no damage to their vehicle, but that a firearm was taken from it.

“We are asking if anyone has cameras in the area to please check and see if anyone suspicious had been in the area between the dates and times of Feb. 22 at 8:30 p.m. and Feb. 23 at 5:40 a.m.,” BPD Chief Kenneth Collins said via Facebook.
