59 Lincoln County 4-H youth go to Dixie National JR Round Up

Lincoln County 4-H was represented well at 2023 Dixie National JR Round-Up with 59 youth exhibiting more than 150 animals across all species.

Julian Chavez was named Champion Gray Brahman Heifer.

Jaylynn Cloy was the recipient of the Norman McCarty Showmanship Scholarship and the Sonny and Doris Thompson Dairy Cattle Showmanship Scholarship.

Kaleigh Robinson won senior showmanship and was named the winner of the MS FFA Dairy Handler’s Contest. Robinson also won Grand Champion Holstein and Reserve Champion Holstein.

Slade Bales was awarded Champion American Commercial Heifer and Reserve Champion AOB-Non-Brahman Bull.

Grant Goree was awarded Champion Brangus Heifer and Reserve Champion Brangus Bull.

Charli Ann Carr was named Grand Champion Simmental Female and Cooper Carr was named Reserve Champion Simmental Female and Reserve Champion Percent Simmental Female.

Lincoln County was represented in the Sale of Champions by Jaylynn Cloy, Grant Goree, and Kylie Graves for receiving a Sale of Champions Scholarship.

Jaylynn, Breelynn, and Payton Cloy won Grand Champion Commercial Heifer and Reserve Champion Commercial Heifer.

Sutton Burns won 12-year-old showmanship and went on to be named 3rd overall showman. Burns also represented Lincoln County in the Dixie National Sale of JR Champions with his Grand Champion Market steer that was also Champion Heavy European Steer and his Champion American Steer.
