Balloons fly in memory of fire victim

One month ago, the Brookwood Apartment Complex burned in the dark hours of the night.
As the sun set Saturday, family and friends of Jerry Ferdinand met in the parking lot of Brookwood to remember him and release balloons in his honor.
After a prayer thanking God for the time they had with Ferdinand, the balloons were released into the nearly clear sky.
A song played as they watched the colorful stars and hearts float into the distance.
