The Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church Mother of the Year 2023 is Ms. Thelma Louise Dickey. She is the third child of the late Mr. Archie and Mrs. Lorene Dickey. She is retired after many years of service at Silver Cross Nursing Home within the Dietetic Department. She is the mother of four beautiful daughters: Victoria, Carondalette (LaShae), Valeria, and Jennifer. She is also grandmother to 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother to seven.

She is a God-fearing woman who has continued to provide for her family and church community through her years of continued service. She continues to show the love of God through her amicable actions, her giving heart, and her willingness to help others, even if she’s giving her very last.

Through her love for God and membership of the Greenwood M.B. Church, she has served in many various roles within the church, namely as a member of the Church Choir, and as a long-time and present member of the Usher Board. Though she is known by many nicknames and titles to her family and friends, on this year 2023, the Greenwood M.B. Church has given her another name or title — Mother of the Year.
