Weather threats keep on coming

BROOKHAVEN — Severe storms could again hit Lincoln County this Sunday. NWS Jackson forecasts two rounds of storms on Sunday.

One will hit in the morning time between 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. Storms could bring 70 mph wind gusts, quarter to golf ball size hail and tornadoes can not be ruled out. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Lincoln, Lawerence and Jefferson Davis Counties until 8 p.m. Saturday night before the Sunday morning weather arrives.

Later on Sunday, storms will pose an enhanced risk to the area. Severe storms are likely, damaging winds gusts of 70 mph and hail of golf ball size and up to 2 inches is possible. A tornado could not be ruled out right now.
