Fire danger is forecast today and Monday due to drought conditions, gusty winds and low humidity. A fire in Copiah County slowed down traffic on I-55 Friday and continued to burn in some parts of the median Saturday morning and evening.
Remember Lincoln County and the surrounding counties remain under a burn ban until further notice. Do not burn, please dispose of cigarette butts properly and put up trailer chains so they do not drag on the roadways.
