A statewide tornado drill will be conducted this morning.

At 9:15 a.m., the warning sirens will be turned on. This is only a test.

Sirens are intended to be heard by anyone outside a building in the city limits. In the event of an actual tornado emergency, the alarms would alert people to seek shelter immediately.

This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Mississippi.
