Warm temperatures will follow frosty Monday morning

BROOKHAVEN — Presidents’ Day is off to a chilly start but temperatures are forecast to reach a high of 61 degrees. It is the lowest high temperature expected this week according to the National Weather Service in Jackson.
Monday will be sunny with a light breeze. The low will fall to 35 degrees over night. Tuesday is expected to be sunny and reach a high of 68 and a low of 45.
Wednesday will be sunny with a high reaching 73 degrees. Winds will be around 5 to 10 mph with gusts reaching 20 mph. Wednesday night will reach a low of 54 in thanks to partly cloudy skies. Clouds keep warm air from escaping the earth’s surface at night.
Thursday will be partly sunny and reaching a high of 73 degrees. Winds will be out of the south to southwest at 10 to 15 mph and gusts reaching 35 mph. Thursday night will fall to a low of 51.
Friday is forecast to reach a high of 68, Saturday is expected to reach 71 and Sunday will reach 75 degrees.
