Brookhaven’s JaBria McCullum was a princess at the BET 2024 Awards. When asked how she wanted to dress for the event, “princess” was her request, and her godmother Katrina Hines did her best to make that happen. Dressed in an elegant yellow dress, McCullum went to the awards ceremony with Hines and her “brother,” actor/singer LaRon Hines — also of Brookhaven.
McCullum, age 8, did not win the YoungStars Award for which she was nominated — that honor went to Blue Ivy, daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z — but Hines said she “had the time of her life.”
McCullum had been nominated for the award after recently appearing on an episode of the popular sit-com, “Abbott Elementary.”
“She danced and sang all night,” Hines said. “She might some amazing celebrities who she loves so much, and she was even more excited to know that they love her just as much. She had the biggest personality, and when I tell y’all she worked the red carpet and every room she walked in, she did just that.”
McCullum is the daughter of Jaricka Hooker, and a Mamie Martin Elementary student.
