At approximately 7:02 a.m., a trooper initiated a traffic stop on Hwy. 51 near York Road on a 2017 white Ford Fiesta. The driver was identified as 33-year-old Hollis Louis Green, of Natchez.
Green attempted to flee the scene, and during the pursuit fired multiple rounds in the direction of the pursuing trooper, according to Cpl. Craig James.

After a thorough search of the area, troopers successfully located Green at approximately 9:38 a.m. He was in possession of a firearm, and was taken into custody without further incident.
Green has been booked into the Adams County Jail and is facing several charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in addition to several misdemeanor violations.
“The Mississippi Highway Patrol extends its gratitude to all the troopers who quickly responded to this dangerous situation and their coordinated efforts to ensure the safe resolution of this incident,” said James.
