Region 7-2A football all-region honors announced

The coaches that make up Region 7-2A have announced the All-Region team selections for players from Amite County, Bogue Chitto, Loyd Star, Wilkinson County, and West Lincoln.

Loyd Star running back Jordyn Kees was selected as the Region MVP while Hornet head coach Adam Smith and his assistants were tabbed Coaching Staff of the Year after winning the region for a second straight year. Joe Taylor of Loyd Star was named Most Valuable Lineman for the region.

Xavier Allen of Amite County brought home Most Valuable Offensive Player while Warren Wallace of Bogue Chitto shared Most Valuable Defensive Player with Jayden Dunbar of Wilkinson County. Jayden Poole of Bogue Chitto was named Most Valuable Special Teams Player thanks to his work in the return game.

First team selections from Loyd Star include Kees, Taylor, Phillip Ross Spencer, Anthony Humphrey, Carson Cunningham, Luke Cotten and Brandon Jenkins. Second team selections from Loyd Star include Zack Cotten, Parker Satterfield, Tristan Fortenberry, and Cooper Creel. Honorable mention selections from Loyd Star include Brantley Pickett, Micah Townsend, and Lajavion Nelson. The Hornets finished 10-3 in 2024.

First team selections from Bogue Chitto include Wallace, Poole, Noah Magee, Isaiah Collins, Gavin Cannon, Hayden Avants, Alex Roberts, and Kayson Magee. Second team selections include Ethan Bales, Tyler Pruden, Javis Gibson, and Jabari Stafford. Honorable mention selections include Amari Thomas, Aaden Kirkland, and Gavin Hawley. Bogue Chitto is coached by BJ Smithhart and finished 6-5 in 2024.

First team selections from West Lincoln include Tyler Hall, Joseph Martin, and Braden Hamm. Second team selections included Caden Seay, Rhett Hedgepeth, Tucker Parsons, and Brody Dillon. Honorable mention selections include Hayz Boyte, Chance Stewart and Layton Sullivan. West Lincoln is coached by Johnny Ball and finished 1-9 in 2024.
