CASEYVILLE — No injuries were reported in a vehicle fire Wednesday. The fire occurred on MS-550 near Harvey Drive.

Firefighters from Loyd Star and New Sight Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the call around 11:30 a.m.  and were able to keep the fire from spreading to the grass nearby. Unfortunately, the fire totaled the vehicle and the heat was so intense it melted components of the engine block and wheel rims.

Units cleared the scene around 12:35 p.m.
