BROOKHAVEN — No one was injured in a camper fire Thursday afternoon. Smoke columns from the fire could be seen from Dunn Ratcliff and Red Star.

Loyd Star and New Sight Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to Kathryn McCleod Trail NW off of Weeks Lane around 2:20 p.m. for a report of a camper on fire. On scene, the camper was fully engulfed. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from damaging a nearby trailer and boat but the camper was a total loss.

Firefighters cleared the scene shortly after 3:30 p.m.
