Top public relations professionals in the region were recently honored for their achievements by the Pine Belt Chapter of the Public Relations Association of Mississippi.
Bestowed annually at the PRAM Chapter Awards Banquet, the awards recognize outstanding work in the PR field and celebrate individuals for their contributions to the profession.
Jessica Breazeale of Wesson, owner of Jessica Breazeale Consulting (JBC), received two awards — a SPARK Award for individual work and the 2025 Judges’ Choice Award, also known as the Best in Show, for her recent campaign “New Client with Huge Needs.”
“I was honored to take home a SPARK Award,” Breazeale said. “That’s essentially first place, but we aren’t competing against other practitioners. We’re being scored using a detailed, extensive grading rubric. Basically, we are competing against ourselves. This process helps me sharpen and refine my skills.”
Breazeale has been a member of PRAM for 13 years, serving three chapters — Mississippi Gulf Coast, Jackson, and Pine Belt. She has served as professional development chair for the past five years.
“I stay active in the organization because I love having like-minded colleagues to brainstorm, network, and collaborate with,” she said.
The Wesson resident won the chapter’s 2024 PR Practitioner of the Year, and the Senior Practitioner Award in 2021 from Southern Public Relations Foundation. She holds a unique distinction of Accreditation in Public Relations.
Olivia Fleming of Bude, JBC social manager, was honored with the top student award. Along with the award, she received a $500 William E. “Bud” Kirkpatrick Student Scholarship for hard work, passion, and promise shown in the field.
“Her future in the industry is bright and we can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes,” said Breazeale. “I’m proud she won. As a valued team member of JBC, I can honestly say this honor is well-deserved.”
Fleming is pursuing a degree in Strategic Communications/Public Relations at the University of Southern Mississippi, with an expected graduation date of May 2026.
