Nickles, Williams named CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

WESSON – Co-Lin continued its successful fall semester in the classroom as two members of the Wolfpack football team, Greg Nickles and Zachary Williams, were named to the Academic All-District I First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Nickles, the sophomore kicker/punter from Pelahatchie (East Rankin Academy), kicked 14-of-19 in field goals with a long of 47 yards. He was 29-of-31 in extra points. Nickles punted 39 times averaging 35.1 yards.

He was named National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Special Teams Player of the Week Oct. 12-18. He was named Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) Special Teams Player of the Week three times this season. In his freshman season, Nickles was named MACJC Second Team All-State. A President’s List student, he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Williams, a sophomore linebacker from Lena (Leake County High School), accounted for 36 tackles this season, 2 sacks, 7 tackles for loss and 1 interception. He was named MACJC Second Team All-State his freshman year.
