Area animal shelter to host fundraiser
The Third Annual Copiah Animal Shelter Gala Fundraiser is set for Saturday, Dec. 7, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Copiah County Fairgrounds Extension Building in Gallman.
Guests will enjoy a buffet of heavy hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, raffles and door prizes, and celebrity entertainment.
The evening’s emcee is radio disc jockey Rick Adams from the “Rick and Kim Morning Show” at MISS 103 in Jackson, along with mobile music DJ Ricky McCraw.
Also featured is singer, writer and entertainer Babs Wood of Copiah County, known for her years performing at the world-famous Pat O’Brien’s Piano Lounge in New Orleans.
The evening will feature live and silent auction items for a variety of budgets, just in time for holiday gift-giving and decorating. Guests will have an opportunity also to take a chance and get a bargain on great items in the drawings, too.
Copiah Animal Shelter volunteers are still gathering donated products and services for auction, and seeking sponsorships. Please contact CAS if you have items to donate or would like to help sponsor the Gala Fundraiser. Donations are tax-deductible.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for ages 7-17, and free for ages 6 and under. Tickets are available at All About Animals Veterinary Clinic in Crystal Springs, Cameron Animal Hospital in Hazlehurst or from the website, copiahanimalshelter.net. Or call (601) 954-6447.
Copiah Animal Shelter is a nonprofit, volunteer-based, limited-intake animal welfare organization supporting Copiah County and surrounding communities. They provide shelter and medical care to lost and homeless animals until permanent placement can be arranged.
