Brookhaven Regional Arts Guild is reminding area artists about BRAG’s upcoming Annual Art Competition.

Artists can compete in five categories: Oil, Acrylics, Pastels, Photography and Mixed Media/3D. The cost per entry is $10, and each artist is limited to three entries in the entire show.

Registration of entries will be held Oct. 1 in the Vernon Room of the Lincoln County Library from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m.

Following registration, the art will be on display in the library from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31.

Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners in each category, plus an overall best of show award and specialty prizes from area merchants in categories of interest. These categories vary from year to year depending on the wishes of the donors.

In addition, the public will have an opportunity to vote during the month of October on a “People’s Choice” Award to be presented for the artwork receiving the most votes.

A reception and awards presentation will be held at the library during the latter part of October.
