As you’ve always been told, water is vital for the well being of your pets. Well, how about Waters, Wyatt Waters, that is?

_ The Brookhaven Animal Rescue League has been fortunate to garner Mississippi watercolor painter, Wyatt Waters, as a special contributing guest for the 2014 Celebrity Dinner and Auction. Waters paints a variety of subjects in plain air using transparent watercolor.

The 11th annual event is set for Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the _Lincoln County Civic Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the event kicking off at 6 p.m.

Guests will enjoy a buffet-style dinner, while Celebrity Waiters (local business people and community leaders), dressed in costume at their decorated tables, will entertain guests as they raise tips for the animals.

A silent auction will take place throughout the evening, and a live auction with a professional auctioneer will round out the night’s activities.

The auctions will have something to meet anyone’s budget, with everything from home décor items, vacation stays, ATV ramps and gift certificates for massages and haircuts.

“Christmas is around the corner and I’ve found the live and silent auctions are great shopping opportunities, so we want everyone to bring their checkbook,” said Rusty Adcock, BARL volunteer.

Celebrity Dinner tickets are $25 and must be pre-purchased before the event. Tickets are available at Engravables on Brookway Boulevard. Anyone interested in having their tickets mailed to them may call BARL volunteer, Julie Montalvo, at 601-757-1057 or email info@barl.net.

BARL volunteers are currently seeking sponsorships, gathering items for the auctions and working on the waiter list.

Volunteers are needed to help with this fundraiser, both pre-event and during the event. Anyone needing information about volunteering for the Celebrity Dinner should contact BARL at 601-757-4367 or info@barl.net.
