Latest COVID-19 numbers for surrounding counties listed

By Wednesday, Feb. 8, Lincoln County had 644 COVID-19 cases and a 1,885.63 case rate per 100,000 people. The positivity rate has been 44.69 percent and there have been fewer than 10 deaths. There have been 20 new hospital admissions since Feb. 1 and 40.2 percent of the population age 5 and up are fully vaccinated.

In Lawrence County as of Feb. 8, there were 187 cases at 1,485.78 case rate per 100,000 people. Positivity percentage was 48.31 and 57.7 percent of the population past the age of 5 were fully vaccinated. There had been five new hospital admissions since Feb. 1.

In Walthall County as of Feb. 9, there were 244 cases with 1,707.97 case rate per 100,000. Positivity was 40.11 percent and fewer than 10 deaths reported. Of the population, 42.7 percent of those aged 5 and up who were fully vaccinated and there were no hospital admissions since Feb. 1.

In Pike County as of Feb. 9, there were 784 cases, 1,995.52 case rate per 100,000 people and 38.04 percent positivity rate. There were fewer than 10 deaths and 18 hospital admissions since Feb. 1. The percent of population over age 5 who were fully vaccinated was 52.4.

In Copiah County, there were 571 cases, 2,034.56 case rate per 100,000 and 46.32 positivity percent. The percentage of population fully vaccinated above the age of 5 was 56.1 and there were seven new hospital admissions since Feb. 1.
