Louisiana crash claims life of local woman

A local woman died in a vehicle accident in Tangipahoa Parish Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 1 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating the single-vehicle crash involving Linda Crozier, of Brookhaven. The crash occurred on I-55 southbound approximately 1 mile south of La. 40 in Tangipahoa Parish.

Initial investigation revealed that a 2008 Toyota Prius, operated by Crozier, 67, was traveling southbound on I-55 near mile marker 39 in the left lane. Crozier, for reasons under investigation, veered to the right, traveled off of the roadway to the right and struck a tree. Crozier was not restrained, received life threatening injuries and was transported to North Oaks Hospital where she later died.

Impairment is not suspected; however, blood and urine samples were collected from Crozier for a toxicological analysis. Those results are pending as this crash remains under investigation.

The death has been confirmed by Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris, and Riverwood Family Funeral Service will handle the arrangements.
