One day left to donate to holiday food pantry drive
Friday is the last day of the Bank of Brookhaven and The Daily Leader’s annual Holiday Food Pantry Drive.
Donations of all sizes have come in to the newspaper office and the bank and more than $4,500 has already been raised. Donations big and small are appreciated, bank President Shannon Aker said.
The money helps fund five area food banks.
“There is a real need this time of year and we are thankful for any size donation,” he said.

The 13th annual Holiday Food Pantry Drive helps fund food pantries in Lincoln County — St. Francis of Assisi/St. Vincent de Paul, Union Hall Baptist Church, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, the Greater Hope Foundation and Bethel AME. You can give in your name, in your the name of your business or in honor or memory of someone. Donations can also be anonymous.
Donations will be accepted at both The Daily Leader and Bank of Brookhaven. Checks should be made out to Holiday Food Pantry.
Donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 551, Brookhaven, MS 39602 or given to bank cashiers either inside the lobby or at the drive-through window.
The names of contributors (unless anonymous) will be published in The Daily Leader as they come in.
