Local teens work Wednesday to prepare for opening night of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. The performers scurry backstage to create a magical experience for the audience. Exuberant costumes, complicated hairstyles and brightly colored sets create a scene that compliments the light-hearted spectacle. The classic story takes a whimsical turn as teens belt the humorous showstoppers and subdued love songs. The cast worked for a month on the performance. The teens have worked in all areas of theater craft including performance, hair, makeup, creating props and set design. The production will begin 7:30 p.m. Thursday and will run through the weekend ending with a Sunday Matinee at 2 p.m.
