Lady Bears split in FC Tourney
MEADVILLE – The West Lincoln Lady Bears fell to the Warren Central Lady Vikings 3-2 and finished in a two-all tie with Lawrence County Saturday in Franklin County’s softball tournament.
The Lady Bears (4-2-1) visit Monticello Tuesday to battle the LCHS Lady Cougars in a rematch. Junior varsity begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6.
Warren Central 3, W. Lincoln 2
Karley Hinson was the winning pitcher for Warren Central with no strikeouts and no walks.
Heather Moak suffered the setback for the Lady Bears with one strikeout and two walks.
Hinson was the offensive leader for the Lady Vikings with a double. Hitting safely were Brooke Patterson, Kasy Cortzie, Sam Kate Smith and Lauren Boolos.
Karley Smith led at the plate for West Lincoln with a double and a single. Layten Sill and Micah Redd contributed a pair of singles. Bentley Sills, Hanna Moak and Heather Moak hit safely.

Heather Moak finished on the mound for WLHS with two strikeouts and one walk.
Barri Rogers pitched for the Lady Cougars and had no strikeouts and one walk.
Redd paced the Lady Bears’ offense with two singles. Hanna Moak provided a double. Hitting safely were Peyton White, Alli Mullins, Bentley Sills, Karley Smith and Heather Moak.
Cierra Horton, Alexsundria Thomas and Madison Hyde were the offensive leaders for Lawrence County with two singles apiece. Jamie Martin singled.
