Because of Labor Day, the Lincoln County School District Board of Trustees met Tuesday instead of their normal Monday meeting.

The board approved their consent agent and a request to apply for Positive Behavior Specialist Funds from the Mississippi Department of Education, office of special education. The funds would provide $6,979.59.

LCSD Superintendent Terry Brister said the schools were settling into their routines.

“The atmospheres are good at the schools from the teachers as a whole,” he said.

The consent agenda included:

• A lease contract with Paul Barnett Nissan for driver’s education cars for the 2014-2015 school year.

• Request to have an emergency school bus.

• List of private contracts for parents/guardians to reimbursed for travel for the 2014-2015 school year.

• Request to accept Loyd Star Activity Funds to purchase or rent items associated with student functions/activities and to contract with Johnny Smith Photography.

• Advertise to accept bids for Chrome Notebooks.

• Request to take up money from the basketball girls at Bogue Chitto for shoes, wind suits and equipment bags.

• Permission to collect money from students at West Lincoln for ACT Prep Class.

• Accept donation of used chemistry cabinets from Copiah-Lincoln Community College at Loyd Star.

• Accept donation from Mathis Construction for West Lincoln’s Cross Country program.

The board also went into executive session to discuss a personnel matter but took no action regarding it during the regular meeting.
