Body found in city investigated by police
A body was found in Brookhaven Wednesday night, and the death is under investigation today by local police and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
Brookhaven police discovered the body, which had burns on it, on Washington Street between 4:30 and 5 p.m. Wednesday, said Police Chief Bobby Bell. Further details were not released.
Authorities transported the body to a crime lab in Jackson where officials with the MBI are pursuing their investigation, the chief said.
Bell said more details would be available as the investigation continues.
