New company is coming to an area town

MONTICELLO – Bonaventure Co. announced Thursday they will be opening an expansion office in Monticello and bringing at least five jobs to the community.

Bonaventure Fire and Safety sells national brand-name fire trucks and fire equipment, including Rosenbauer Fire Apparatuses, Interspiro Air Packs, Lion Apparel, Task Force Tips and Bullard brands and others.

In addition to new trucks and equipment sales, Bonaventure’s Monticello facility will serve as their Mississippi and Alabama service and repair center and a refurbishment center. Additionally, the company offers an array of OSHA compliant training programs.

“We are excited about Bonaventure’s move to our county. They had their pick of several locations around south Mississippi, yet they chose Monticello-Lawrence County,” Lawrence County economic development director Jared Evans said in a press release.

“The jobs will be well paying, technical jobs and their sales, service and training aspects will not only be an asset to our community, but it will also promote our town and county on all that they do within our state.”

Bonaventure will initially employ five people at the Monticello location. The number will rise in conjunction with the success the location has. Evans said the team in Monticello will be responsible for truck repairs, servicing and refurbishment as well as sales. The branch’s district encompasses everything south of Interstate 20. In addition to employing residents, Bonaventure will also allow Monticello to diversify beyond the forestry industry.

“There’s really things like that that cannot be measured, but it’s getting our name out there,” Evans said.

Bonaventure has been serving fire and safety professionals in the Gulf South for over 21 years, and Rosenbauer is the No. 1 selling fire truck in the world and the No. 2 selling fire truck in the United States, according to the press release.

“Bonaventure choosing to locate in Monticello proves once again we are open for business,” said Monticello mayor Dave Nichols, “We would like to thank Jared Evans, the CDA, and the Lawrence County Board of Supervisors for all of their support and help in landing this new business. We look forward to many years of prosperity from Bonaventure.”
