Jackets crush Prentiss
The Enterprise Yellow Jackets overpowered the Prentiss Bulldogs Tuesday to claim a 15-0 win in Region 7-2A action at Enterprise.
“Landon Gartman gave us a great outing on the mound,” said Enterprise coach Cass Brister. “He did a great job keep Prentiss off balance at the plate. I was proud of the guys’ efforts, but we still need to make the necessary adjustments at the plate to be successful. Overall, this was a great win to for our seniors to go out on. They have done a lot for this program and they deserve it.”
The Jackets (11-5, 7-2) will travel to Prentiss Friday night looking to complete the series sweep and clinch the No. 2 seed in the division race. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 7 p.m.
Enterprise 15, Prentiss 0
The Jackets dominated the Bulldogs in a three-inning contest. Enterprise pounded out five runs in the first inning, nine runs in the second inning and finished off Prentiss in the third inning, scoring one run to win the game on a 15-run mercy rule.
London Gartman had a dominating performance on the mound for the Jackets. He pitched the no-hit, shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Hunter Richardson powered the Jackets with a double and a single. Gartman provided two singles. Brady Watts ripped a double and Cade Cangemi had a single.
The Jackets celebrated Senior Night as they recognized Max Miller and Brady Watts.
