Georgia Blues headed to Brookhaven

Georgia Blue restaurant is planting roots in Brookhaven.

The restaurant announced Tuesday on social media that they are heading to the Home Seekers Paradise. They also posted that they are now accepting applications for the upcoming restaurant.

John Lynch said the restaurant has already begun renovating the building where The Crossing was located in downtown Brookhaven. He said they are planning to open in December.

Georgia Blue is a soul food restaurant that describes itself as a unique combination of sophisticated food and a laid-back style. The restaurant has three locations in Madison, Hattiesburg and Flowood.

The current locations feature live music, soul food and a bar with signature cocktails. The menu has a little bit of everything, including specials such as seafood linguine, tamales, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, red beans and rice and crab cakes. They also offer blue plates for lunch and dinner. The current locations are open Monday through Sunday with live music at night Thursday through Saturday.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Garrick Combs said there is currently not a set date for a ribbon cutting, but they are in discussions.
