Brookhaven Trust fundraiser to be held Tuesday

The Taste of Trust is gearing up once again to be the talk of the town.

“My favorite part is seeing the community come together to enjoy the night and ultimately raise money to help Brookhaven,” Jason Snider, event organizer, said.

From 5:30 to 9 p.m. the Brookhaven Trust will be at Ole Towne Church providing a sampling of foods from 18 different restaurants. In addition to an unlimited supply of appetizers, main dishes and desserts, Tyler Bridge’s Jazz Blues Band will be providing some entertainment for the guests.

A silent auction will be in business with local businesses, artists, photographers and organizations donating a variety of items to bid on. All money raised will go back into the community.

“We’d also like to thank our gold sponsors, Bank of Brookhaven, King’s Daughters Medical Center, Brookhaven Printing, First Bank and Insurance & Risk Managers,” Snider said.

The Brookhaven Trust supports the local arts community through its four divisions – the arts, drama, music and education. The main goal for 2014 of the Trust is to spruce up downtown by helping businesses freshen up the exterior façade through matching grants.

“It all started in 1991,” Snider said. “The Trust came together to try to raise money for Mary Jane Lampton Auditorium to preserve the roof. I’m excited to see us continue this mission.”

Tickets are $25. For more information, call Jason Snider at 601-695-8123.
