DAILY LEADER / KATIE WILLIAMSON / Police, sheriff department and state troopers respond to a report at Trustmark bank on Highway 51 North on Monday morning.

Police are investigating an incident that took place this morning at the Trustmark bank on Highway 51 in Brookhaven.

Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell reported that at approximately 10:07 a.m. the police department received a call from the Trustmark bank on Highway 51. After arrival, the officers were informed that a lone black male came in with a deposit slip with a made up account number trying to withdraw money. When the clerk asked for identification, he pointed to a note that said, “give me all your money, and no bait money.” No money was given, Bell said.

The man  left the bank on foot, heading south on Highway 51. It is not known whether he got into a vehicle. He was wearing a camouflage hat, a white T-shirt with a long red shirt underneath and appeared to have dreadlocks or a dreadlocks wig.

The incident is still under investigation by the Brookhaven Police Department.
