West Lincoln finish third in District meet

The West Lincoln boys and girls finished in third place in the Region 3/District 6-2A cross-country meet at Clarkdale last Saturday.

West Lincoln’s Jason Watts finished in first place overall to lead the Class 2A Bears with a time of 17:16. Jordan Montgomery was eighth overall with the time of 19:29. Other members of the boys teams were Todd Calcote at 20:37, followed by Jonathan Mathis at 20:56 and Baylie Hughes at 21:17.

The Lady Bears secured third place in their event. Georganna Allen came in ninth place overall to led West Lincoln’s runners with a time of 24:46.

Carlie Smith finished 12th with the time of 25:48, Morgan Newman placed 13th at 26:05, followed by Skylar Hall at 26:22 and Megan Gerald at 26:45.

The Top 14 runners of each group were named to the All-District team. Georganna Allen, Carlie Smith and Morgan Newman received All-District honors in the girls meet. Jason Watts and Jordan Montgomery earned All-District honors in the boys’ 5K run.
