W. Lincoln second at Choctaw Trails

CLINTON – The West Lincoln girls placed second in the Region 3-2A Cross Country championship at Choctaw Trails, Tuesday. Madison St. Joe Lady Bruins finished in first place.

The Lady Bears were paced by Lillianne Rushing, who posted a time of 18:48 in the 4K distance.

Lexis Leggett followed Rushing with a time of 19:52. Other West Lincoln leaders were Georganna Allen, 20:05, Jana Case, 20:50 and Carly Holden, 22:28.

The Bears came in fourth place in the 5K run. Clarkdale finished in first place. West Lincoln’s Jason Watts competed in the varsity boys 5K run and posted a time of 19:22.

Other West Lincoln leaders were Jordan Montgomery, 21:34, Adam Martinez, 21:37, Matt Gill, 22:49 and Baylie Hughes, 23:20.

Coach Jason Case’s Bears and Lady Bears resume action Saturday as they host a meet at West Lincoln. Action starts at 9 a.m.
