North Pike dominates NW Rankin

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars (3-1) roar past Northwest Rankin Lady Cougars 12-1 in Thursday night slowpitch softball action.

North Pike came out and quickly took care of business Thursday night as they hammered Northwest Rankin early to grab a 12-0 lead in two innings of action.

The Lady Cougars scored their only run in the fourth inning before falling to the Lady Jaguars in a five-inning contest.

Whitney Howell was the winning pitcher for the Lady Jaguars with no strikeouts and no walks.

Abby Whitefield suffered the loss for Northwest Rankin with no strikeouts and four walks.

Rickera Martin and Alli Summers provided the offensive spark to lead the Lady Jaguars at the plate with a home run and a single each. Jordan Fitzgerald fueled the flames with a home run. Madison Bates and Linley Smith continued the onslaught with a pair of singles. Hitting safely were Jami Spears, Sarah Brock, Baylee Bryant, Whitney Howell, Jenna Brook and Janiah Talbert.

Olivia Houston was Northwest Rankin top hitter with a double and a single. Ariel Johnson and Ronda Miles hit safely.

In JV action, North Pike won 1-0 over Northwest Rankin.

Skye James paced the Lady Jaguars with two singles. Brianna Rimes, Madison Moak, Kenna Hutto and Brooks Coleman hit a single each.
