Herbert J. Woodard and Velma C. Williams announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

She is the daughter of the late Elijah and Alice Covington, of Bude.

He is the son of the late Delorse Johnson and Jesse Perkins, of Brookhaven.

The bride-elect attended Franklin County High School. She is currently employed with Sanderson Farms in Hazlehurst.

The prospective groom attended Brookhaven High School. He is currently employed as a carpenter in and outside of Mississippi.

The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at the Brookhaven Recreation Department. A reception will follow.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
