Funeral Services for Carolyn B. Williams of Smithdale are 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Benjie Pyett and the Rev. Thomas Wicker will officiate. Hartman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Gum Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Williams, 60, died Sept. 18, 2014, at Countrybrook Living Center after a lengthy illness. She was born on Aug. 2, 1954, in Savannah, Georgia, to Bobby Joe and Mary Wilson Byrd.

She was a member of the Gum Grove Baptist Church and was a retired school teacher.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Ricky Williams, one daughter, Sarah L. Wilson and husband, Robert, of Ridgeland; one step-son, Luke Williams and wife, Crystal, of Summit; two brothers, Jim and wife, Nicole Byrd, of Brookhaven, and Joe W. and wife, Debra Byrd, of Brookhaven; three sisters, Mary Lofton and husband, Mike, of Brookhaven, Bobbie Felder of Smithdale and Jeannie Holmes and husband, Mark of Mobile, Alabama; one granddaughter, Alaina Wilson, three step-grandchildren, Calvin Williams, Trent Williams and Colton Williams along with numerous nieces and nephews.
