The Loyd Star Hornets capture the Region 7-2A regular season championship Monday afternoon with a 5-2 victory over the West Lincoln Bears in tennis action at the Brookhaven City Courts.

The Hornets were victorious in the No. 1 Boys Doubles of Cole Moak/Blayne Brister and No. 2 Boys Doubles of Lee Thomas and Gavin Thomas. Loyd Star also secured wins in Mixed Doubles led by Bryson & Madisyn Brister, No. 2 Girls Doubles of Toni Banks & Jordan Shelby and in Girls singles action by Ashlyn Locke.

The Bears receive victories in No. 1 Girls Doubles led by Katy Clark & Kara Clark and Boys singles action by Sebastian Harrell.

The Hornets will be in action today as they travel to Summit to face the North Pike Jaguars at the Southwest Community College Tennis Courts.
