Changes are happening in Union Church these days. We have a new postmaster! Abbe Richardson is blessing us with her sweet smile and eagerness to learn. I am excited about her appointment especially since I taught her mother at Brookhaven Academy some years ago. Welcome to our community, Abbe. We are happy you are here.

Another change happens Sunday, April 26. We are saying goodbye to our pastor and wife, Bro. Steve and Donna Smith. We are going to miss them here in the church and community but are happy to say they are following God’s will for their lives.

Reports are that Mrs. Velma Stroud enjoyed her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends Sunday, August 12. We wish this precious lady joy as she celebrates the coming days with loved ones.

Many of you may remember Douglas and Frances Ivey who lived in this community some years ago. Their daughter, Sue Clemmons, went to be with her Lord last week. We reach out with prayers for this family.

Marinia Smith is home following ear surgery. We continue to pray for her recovery and hope she will be back at church with us soon.  Lynn Jurey will have surgery next week. We are praying for a successful surgery and her recovery as well. More ongoing prayers are needed for Blanche Keller who was at King’s Daughters Medical Center the last I heard.
