Woodie and Linda Franklin, of Brookhaven, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jessica Temple Franklin, of Brookhaven, to Brett Alton Rushing.

He is the son of Darrell and Janis Rushing, of Bogue Chitto.

She is the granddaughter of the late Charles and Helen Rawls, of Brookhaven, and the late Rayford and Jewel Franklin, of Brookhaven.

He is the grandson of Evelyn Parker, the late Earl Parker, of Brookhaven, and Thelma Vicknair, of Amite, Louisiana, Marlene Rushing and the late Allen Rushing, of Bogue Chitto.

The bride-elect is a graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center and a 2014 graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College with an associate’s degree in nursing.

She is currently employed with Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

The prospective groom is a graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center and Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

He is also a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in forestry management. He is currently employed with Land Max Timber Company in Brookhaven.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2015, at New Prospect Baptist Church.

A reception will follow at The Old Wesson School.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
