Funeral services for Jerry Dale Boyd are 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Ruth Baptist Church Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is from 5 until 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Riverwood.

Mr. Boyd, 65, of Ruth, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1950, to Charles C. Boyd and Nellie Rushing Boyd Freeman.

He was retired from Topisaw Creek Water Association with 20 years of employment and served in the United States National Guard. Mr. Boyd was a member of Ruth Baptist Church. He was a former member of Brookhaven Fire Department and a longtime Volunteer Firefighter with Ruth VFD. He was an active member in the community of Ruth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Boyd and wife, Connie; and granddaughter, Paisley Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Boyd; sons, Dwayne Boyd and wife, Angi, Randy Boyd and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Danita Boyd and husband, Kris Carter; sister, Catherine White and husband, Bobby; seven grandchildren, Kristyn Boyd Coon and husband, Cass, Katie Boyd, Alanna Carter, Aubren Ezell, Kayci Carter, Jerry “JD” Boyd; and one great-grandchild, Myleigh Kate Boyd; special friends of the family, Fred and Margie Bacot, James and Carolyn Quin, Dwaine and Carolyn Laird, Don and Margie Britt and Bobby and Sissy Strange.
