BA Lady Cougars blank Prentiss Christian

The Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars blanked the Prentiss Christians Lady Saints 13-0 Monday night in MAIS Softball action at Brookhaven Academy Softball complex.

In Saturday action, Brookhaven Academy captured a split in Parklane Academy’s Softball tournament. BA defeated Oak Forest Academy 8-3 and lost to University Academy of Central Louisiana 2-0.

The Lady Cougars (7-8, 1-3), coached by Becky Flowers, will continue action today as they travel to Mendenhall to take on the Simpson Academy Lady Cougars. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:30.

BA 13, Prentiss Christian 0

Allison Livingston was the winning pitcher on the mound for BA. She had a shut out performance with no hits, no runs, no walks and four strikeouts.

Livingston was also the leader at the plate with a double and a single. Cameron Watson contributed two singles. Hitting safely were Kailyn Jordan, Anna Grace Covington, Abeni Fuller, Madi Smith and Julie Anna Bartram.

In junior varsity action,  The Lady Cougars clobbered the Lady Saints 9-1.

Emily Claire Felder tossed the win for the Lady Cougars with two strikeouts and no walks.

Madison Moak powered the Lady Cougars offense with triple and a single. Abeni Fuller provided a double and Julie Anna Bartram had a single.

BA 8, Oak Forest Acad. 3

Allie Summers tossed the win for the Lady Cougars with five strikeouts and one walk.

Summers powered the Lady Cougars attack at the plate with a home run and a single. Livingston contributed two doubles. Jordan provided a pair of singles. Bartram and Covington hit a single each.

UACL 2, BA 0 

Summers suffered the setback on the mounds in Game 2 of the tournament with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Alex Rae Smith and Abeni Fuller were the top hitters for the Lady Cougars with a single each.

In junior varsity action, BA battled Parklane in the tournament and fell 5-0 to the Lady Pioneers.

Madi Smith absorbed the setback on the rubber with three strikeouts and two walks. Felder (1K, 0BB) also pitched in relief.

Bartram paced the Lady Cougars’ offense with two singles. Hitting safely were Madison Moak, Madi Smith and Olivia Lewis.
