Local weather stats

The Wastewater Treatment Facility in Brookhaven reported a high of 89 degrees for Tuesday and a low of 58. The temperature at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday was 61 degrees. There was no precipitation.

River Stages

On Tuesday the Mississippi River stage at Vicksburg, where the flood stage is 43 feet, was 12.4 staying the same in the past 24 hours. In Natchez, where the flood stage is 48 feet, was 19.3, up 0.2 feet in the past 24 hours. The Pearl River stage at Jackson, where the flood stage is 12 feet, was 4.2, staying the same in the past 24 hours.

 

Fire reports

The Brookhaven Fire Department reports to trailer fire on Tuesday at 1224 Union Street. Firefighters arrived at approximately 11:09 a.m. and discovered the fire to be a stove that had overheated. Firefighters cleared the smoke from the residence and left the scene at around 11:31 a.m.

 

Copiah County Reports 

The Wesson Volunteer Fire Department reports a false alarm for Tuesday. Volunteer firefighters responded at 5:03 p.m. and returned to the station at 5:09 p.m

Ambulance Report

King’s Daughters Medical Center Ambulance Service had 18 calls Tuesday; five were transfers, with four to Jackson and one to Southwest. There were thirteen emergency calls, with eight medical, four in the city and four in the county. There were five motor vehicle accidents in the city.
