Funeral services for John Wiley Honeycutt will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. 

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015 at the funeral home.

Mr. Honeycutt, 86, of Miramar Beach, Florida, formerly of Brookhaven, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Florida. He was born June 26, 1929, to Fred O. Honeycutt and Minnie Watts Honeycutt.

He was employed in the oil industry as directional drilling engineer before his retirement. Mr. Honeycutt served his country in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ivy Honeycutt; parents; sister, Frances Honeycutt Lisotta; and sister-in-law, Fayme Ivy Costanza.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Honeycutt Pleasants, her husband, Will, and their son, Ross B. Honeycutt, all of Miramar Beach, Florida; brothers, Kenneth Joe Honeycutt of Tunica, Louisiana and Clinton Wayne Honeycutt of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sisters, Clara Honeycutt Wells of Bogalusa, Louisiana, Juanita Honeycutt Crocket of West Monroe, Louisiana and Louise Honeycutt Lizenby of Monroe, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Annye Ivy Brenckle of Kenner, Louisiana; step-grandchildren, Taylor Pleasants and Lucy Pleasants.
