Steve and Melane McCaffrey Crosby, of Bogue Chitto, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Laken Kathleen Crosby, of Bogue Chitto, to Kason Samuel Van Norman, of Magnolia.

He is the son of Thomas and Sue Allen Van Norman, of Magnolia.

She is the granddaughter of Richard and Murlie McCaffrey, of Bogue Chitto, and George and Melinda Bales Hughes, of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and Clifton and Dolores Lofton Crosby, of Bogue Chitto.

He is the grandson of Mary Wolbrecht Allen and the late Robert Lee Allen, of Magnolia, and the late James Lee and the late Cornelia “Cuttie” Van Norman, of McComb.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Bogue Chitto Attendance Center, a 2012 graduate of Southwest Mississippi Community College where she received an associate’s degree in science and 2015 graduate of William Carey University where she received a degree in elementary education. She is currently employed with Osyka Elementary School.

The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of North Pike High School and 2009 graduate of Southwest Mississippi Community College where he received an associate’s degree. He also attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he studied communications and marketing He is currently employed with American Campus Community.

The couple will exchange vows at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016, at the Van Normans at 7126 Fernwood Road in Magnolia. A reception will immediately follow.

All friends and relatives are invited to attend the wedding and the reception.
